According to data pulled by the Wisconsin Builders Association, Dane County is still leading 2018 in monthly new single family housing permits pulled.  While there has been plenty of talk of the Milwaukee area dominating in the new housing industry, the majority of the permits pulled in that area are still multi-family and commercial buildings.  Dane County is still setting the bar high as far as all counties across the state, pulling 679 permits by the end of the month in June of 2018.  In comparison, at the close of June in 2017, there were 697 permits pulled.  Experts are speculating this is due to the increasing number of available multi-family units, drawing some of the potential first home builder/buyers back into condos and rentals.  See Here for More Information
